Welcome to the Belvidere Barracudas!
The Barracudas have been making a splash in the Belvidere community for over 60 years—since the very beginning of the town pool! We’re proud to carry on this tradition of summer fun, team spirit, and swimming for all ages and skill levels.
Our goal is simple: to make every summer swim season a positive, memorable experience for swimmers and their families. Whether your swimmer is just learning the ropes or racing for personal bests, there’s a place for them here. We offer a competitive and a developmental group.
Have questions about the upcoming season? We’re happy to help! Email us anytime at [email protected].
Dive in and see why being a Barracuda isn’t just about swimming - it’s about community, teamwork, and a summer full of fun! See you at the pool!

We’ll be in the water starting the last week of May with evening practices! While it’s okay if you can’t make every session due to evening conflicts, we encourage swimmers to attend as many as possible. Morning practices will begin in mid-June, once local schools are out for summer break.

What to Bring to Practice
Come to practice as often as possible—and don’t forget your goggles, towel, water bottle, and cap (if needed).
Please arrive a few minutes early so swimmers are ready to hop in right on time. Session 1 swimmers should arrive 10–15 minutes early to help set up lane lines before practice begins.
Meets
Please declare your swimmers at least 2 days before a meet. This gives the coach time to create the best lineup possible. Late sign-ups may only be placed in exhibition heats or open lanes instead of being strategically assigned.
If your plans change after declaring “attending,” please update your signup and let Coach Corinne know as soon as possible. This helps us adjust the lineup smoothly!
Volunteer Requirements
Each family is required to volunteer at three (3) meets per season. It takes over 20 volunteers to run a home meet smoothly, and just a few less for away meets—your help truly makes a difference!
Additionally, we ask for each family to donate to the Cuda Café, which raises about $500 per home meet. Without these funds, we’d need to increase registration fees, so every contribution counts! This year, we will also be running our Cuda Café during champs, hosted by Easton at our pool.
Want to go above and beyond? Coordinating a roadside cleanup or coin toss is a great way to support the team—and it counts as one (1) of your required volunteer spots! Reach out to a board member if you’re interested.
