Practice & Meet Gear Guidelines

Practice

Swimmers should arrived 10 minutes early, prepared with:

  • A swim cap (long hair must be tied back or capped)
  • Goggles (no nose coverings - eyes only)
  • A towel
  • A one-piece suit for girls (no bikinis please!)
  • Jammers, briefs, or swim trunks for boys

Suits can be any color or brand for practice.

We provide kickboards and pull buoys, and have a limited supply of fins and hand paddles. If your swimmer is ready for their own, feel free to reach out to a coach for guidance on what to buy.

Meets

At meets, swimmers must wear:

  • A Cuda team suit (available on our team store or at A&H)
    OR
  • A solid black or black-and-red suit with no words or logos except the brand logo

Note: Tie-back suits (like Jolyn) are not allowed in meets and will result in disqualification.

Swim caps must be either a Cuda team cap or a plain black cap—no exceptions.

Other helpful items for meets:

  • Extra towels (one to sit on, one to dry off)
  • A Sharpie (to write events on their arm or leg)
  • Simple card games (great for downtime, but swimmers should always be ready to swim!)

New to swim? Welcome! We're glad you're here. Feel free to ask our coaches or board members questions, or you can check out this helpful blog on summer league swim gear—it's a great resource for first-time swim parents!
