The Belvidere Barracudas are a community swim team based at the Belvidere Community Pool in Belvidere, New Jersey. For more than 60 years, we have welcomed swimmers of all ages and experience levels, creating a place where children can build skills, confidence, friendships, and a lifelong love of the water.
We believe swimming should be both challenging and fun. Our program focuses on steady growth, good sportsmanship, personal responsibility, and being part of something bigger than yourself. Every swimmer is encouraged to set goals, support their teammates, and celebrate progress - whether that means learning a new stroke, swimming a personal best, or simply gaining confidence in the pool.
The Barracudas offer both developmental and competitive programs, providing opportunities for swimmers at every stage of their journey. New swimmers are welcomed with patience and encouragement, while experienced swimmers are challenged to continue growing and refining their skills.
What makes the Barracudas special is our community. Coaches, families, volunteers, and swimmers work together to create a positive environment where everyone contributes and everyone belongs. Summer swim is more than practices and meets, it is friendships, traditions, teamwork, and memories that last long after the season ends.
As a nonprofit, volunteer-supported organization, we are proud to continue a tradition that has brought local families together for generations.
